🦅Honoring Our Heroes: Veterans Day Across Our District
🌟Veterans Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it is a vital opportunity to teach our youth about courage, selflessness, and citizenship.
Across our district, our teachers and staff are dedicated to ensuring students understand the true meaning of Veterans Day: honoring the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and protect our freedoms.
By hearing stories, honoring local service members, and learning about the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces, our students learn the value of duty and gratitude firsthand.

We will see everyone back on Tuesday! Have a great and restful long weekend.

Congratulations to you both! This honor is a true reflection of your dedication, passion, and the immense impact you make on our campus every day. We are so grateful to have you representing OAA, and we know you will do so perfectly! 🎉

¡Buenas noches! Por favor, consulte la carta a continuación del Comisionado de Educación con respecto a la oración escolar.

Okeechobee County Schools is announcing a series of campus transitions that will take effect beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. These changes are designed to better serve students at every grade level, align programs with the right facilities, and maximize the benefits of recent and upcoming capital investments across the district.
With the completion of the new Okeechobee High School campus, the school will expand to serve students in grades 9–12 full-time. Ninth-grade students will attend school at the new high school campus. This transition provides students with a more cohesive high school experience and expanded access to programs and opportunities.
As part of these changes, secondary students currently enrolled at Okeechobee Achievement Academy will relocate to the former Freshman Campus building. Elementary students participating in the IBP program will transition to Seminole Elementary School. These moves allow academic programs to be better aligned with facilities designed to support student needs and focused services.
In addition, the district will open a new Early Learning Center dedicated exclusively to VPK students. Having VPK as the only students on this campus allows for a safe, welcoming, and age-appropriate environment focused on early childhood development, early literacy, and kindergarten readiness.
To support these transitions, capital improvement projects will take place at the newly configured Okeechobee Achievement Academy and the future Early Learning Center. These improvements will focus on refreshing facilities, enhancing learning spaces, and ensuring students and families are welcomed into modern, engaging environments. The district will also work closely with families to support student transportation needs wherever possible.
These campus transitions reflect a thoughtful, long-term approach to serving students at every stage of their educational journey. Additional details, timelines, and family communications will be shared as planning continues.
💜Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support student success across Okeechobee County Schools.

🌟Health screenings and lunch are also provided!

FDOE Recent changes.

When students show up every day, they build skills and confidence to succeed!
🙌Attendance always matters, but October 6–10 is extra important! This week, the state takes its official enrollment snapshot, which helps determine school funding for the year.
✅ Students in class = accurate count = the right funding to keep our district strong and full of opportunities for our kids.
🌟Let’s make this week count- every student, every day, because it makes a difference!

On Wednesdays, we wear pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💕
🎀School community- join us in showing support and spreading awareness by wearing pink each Wednesday throughout October.
🎀Together, we honor and remember those who have faced breast cancer, and support those currently affected by breast cancer. Let’s fill our schools with a sea of pink this month. Nobody fights alone 💗

📚Before you book that trip, check out our student holiday schedule! Scheduling vacations during school breaks helps keep students learning, growing, and on track for success all year long. 💪

Today, 9/26/2025, our school was placed in a precautionary shelter-in-place. At this time, we have an all clear and have since resumed all regularly scheduled classes. At no time there was never a danger to our students at OAA. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
