Friday, September 12 is AVID Day!  Across the country, schools and districts are coming together to recognize the transformative power of AVID, which equips students with the skills, confidence, and support they need to thrive in college, careers, and beyond!

South Families: 💙We will be celebrating Grandparents' Day at South Elementary on Tuesday, September 9th! 💙We would like to invite Grandparents to South Elementary to have lunch with their Grandchildren during the student's scheduled lunch. •Tables will be set up in the cafetorium for lunch and there are picnic tables with umbrellas in the courtyard. •Please remind grandparents to bring their ID and any grandparent attending must be listed in Skyward by the parent as a contact for the student. (Parents can only update this in person so please plan ahead for this if needed.) •They may bring lunch or purchase a school lunch for $5.00. •The Book Fair will also be in the media center if grandparents would like to visit the book fair with their grandchildren. At 8:20 this morning South conducted one of our state required shelter in place to lockdown drills. All students are currently safe and in classes learning.💙

🔹️Reminder: Starting today, students can be dropped off (not walked to class) beginning at 7:30 and will go to the cafeteria to wait to be released to classrooms at 7:50. 🔹️Staff will be assisting students to class. 🔹️The tardy bell rings at 8:10. 🦅Thank you, Principal Steiert
